Benjamin Langley Peaceful Prosperity Master Meditation Master Your Life Book Review

Maybe…

Is Sitting Crossed Legged Chanting OM Not Your

Thing?

Then then Benjamin has some tips for you.  I’m a believer in meditation, I just don’t do it.  I’ve ‘tried’ but it’s not my thing. I’d rather go for a long walk, breath for a few moments, stare at the stars. And guess what, this might, given a bit of a stretch, qualify as meditation.

Staring at the stars wouldn’t be the standard definition  of course, but if you need a quick way to relax when your daughter won’t get out of bed and she is late for school and you are late for an important meeting with a client and you wanted to leave early to have time to find the place and now it’s snowing and it’s going to make you later and I can feel my blood pressure rising with every word I type.

And that’s just what Benjamin has me do on this interview!

Master Meditation Master Your Life Book Review

Benjamin is fun, quirky, dynamic and definitely a meditation enthusiast – and he knows that not all of us are. This book is full of tips, tricks and ideas for all of us who want to learn to relax, be more focused and get ‘more’ out of life.

Benjamin Langley has some tips  for the ‘rest of us’ but also speaks to those people who have a practice and would like to go deeper.

The chapters are broken up into easy to read ideas and you can start anywhere and pick up a great tip, or next idea for your practice.

Meditation doesn’t have to be complicated. You can learn to do it by learning to relax! Wow! this is meditation for the rest of us who don’t like to sit straight backed up and upright for hours on end. Learn to find ways that meditation works for you, anytime, anyplace.

Benjamin has studied for years in the personal growth field.  See for yourself:

n addition I cover a variety of other meditation techniques including:

  • Chakra meditation
  • Energy meditation
  • Zen meditation
  • Vipassana meditation &
  • Guided visualization

To make these tools even more effective, I use elements of

  • NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)
  • Sports-psychology
  • Ancient and Modern Mysticism (including self hypnosis) &

Mind-body practices such as

  • Yoga
  • EFT
  • Breath work
  • Energy Medicine
  • Radiant Circuits

When these methods are appropriately used in conjunction, the result is a relaxed, peaceful mind moving through a strong, flexible body to achieve greater and greater prosperity, internally and externally. This process will speed up significantly when taught person to person through life coaching.

My meditation instructor taught me that drinking a little more water throughout the day and regularly stopping just to breathe deeply would revolutionize my life. That was true. Ben is a realist. He understands people. He is someone worth letting in your head.

Thanks the key isn’t it Bruce! Being a realist and knowing not everyone will become a ‘real’ mediator, but some will, and some will breathe!

      Benjamin

      Thank you, Bruce.

That is one of the most flattering compliments I’ve ever had.

It’s interesting, the Silva Method has created an entire meditation technique around drinking a glass of water. Things like this and bringing a little more awareness and depth to your breathing are powerful because you can do them at virtually anytime. You don’t have to worry about a rigorous practice regimen. You don’t have do worry about different theories. You just bring a little more of it into your life… and then it is powerful throughout your life.

We don’t take a single super-long, intense shower only once a month. We take a relatively short shower daily. This keeps us clean most of the time… as compared to only being ‘super-clean’ once a month.

With an informal practice of meditation that you can use throughout the day, you can stay more focused and relaxed most of the time… as compared to just being super focused and relaxed for a brief portion of your day.

Formal practice is very useful. Properly applied informal practice, however, is beyond ‘useful’… it is incredibly transformational… the effects are priceless.

You guys are going to get me hooked on the meditating. By the way I have used the 3 deep breaths several times today. Thanks for that great tip. I bet it was fun to go through the breathing on live internet. Maybe I should try it on one of my videos and direct them to you and Benjamin. Oh, by the way I love that picture of Benjamin and the baby daughter. It is beautiful and full of love.

Thank you so much for posting this, Michelle!

The common view of meditation is not terribly useful for most of us.

Being present while observing natural beauty (the stars, a mountain, the moon, the ocean, a sunset, etc.) might be the most powerful meditation most people ever get to experience… (it is one of the most powerful ones I’ve ever experienced). In Florida I would drive down to the beaches at night by myself just to silently enjoy the beauty. I do miss the beaches, but in Colorado, I have the majesty of the Rocky Mountains to keep me company. On the right day… it’s like the Rockies can pull me out of whatever nonsense I’m worrying about and remind me that beauty exists everywhere… all the time… if only you can become a little more willing to notice it.

A nice walk (particularly when combined with deep breathing) is another excellent and easy practice of meditation.

The key isn’t to follow a particular tradition (although there is nothing wrong with that should it be your preference)… the key is to find some activity or set of activities in your daily life where you can notice a your increased focus and relaxation… your stronger presence… your deeper awareness. The more you notice this place in daily life, the more powerful it becomes. It is a place where you are much less emotionally shakeable… that is powerful and practical meditation for anyone who is willing to take the time to soften their perception.

I hope you find this useful!

that certainly does help Benjamin! It helps take the pressure off ‘mediating’

    Hi Benjamin -

I also have been resistant to meditation. Could never get my mind quiet – for more than a minute.

I have tried the breathing exercizes but the AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA does make the difference.

I could really feel the difference. Thanks, Jonathan.

I love the word “FOCUS” instead of Meditation.

      Thank you, Corinne.

‘Focus’ and ‘concentration’ are words that tend to convey more concrete value to us than ‘meditation’ does. They also sound less strange, and perhaps a bit easier.

If you can focus, you can meditate. If you can relax, you can meditate. If you can focus and relax at the same time… you can meditate well… :-)

Benjamin has gradually chipped away at my resistance to embracing meditation. He does blow away alot of the “mystic” and make it practical. I may even end up buying his book! Great interview.

I agree with David, I’m being gradually drawn in by Benjamin’s no-nonsense and realistic approach. I will look into getting his book, when the ethical bribe is around :)
I need to start small though, the three breaths is one I’ve heard a few times and felt good when following along. Interesting…

Based on my personal experience, people who don’t meditate don’t know what they’re missing, and people who do [meditate], don’t ever regret the decision to have added it to their arsenal of well-being. Even “Think and Grow Rich” says there’s immeasurable power in meditation and prayer. On the surface, you’d expect meditation to be more popular, but as you say in your interview, there continues to be a certain stigma attached to it. So your message that meditation can be easy, anytime, anywhere, is extremely useful. Congrats to your interview with Michelle!

Meditation is amazing. I’ve fallen off the wagon quite a few times… but I always come back. When something becomes a part of who you are… the occasional lapse becomes a very minor issue. ;-)
