An oversized armchair can be any accent chair adds warmth and good taste to your room. If you have a chair that sits there and needs some love, only it can be upholstered. Reupholstering is really simple and can be inexpensive, too. As long as you are careful and have some free time, you can have a new accent chair to show at any time.
Gather your materials. The materials needed include needle nose pliers, box cutter and seam ripper, batting, upholstery fabric, tape, rope welting, upholstery tacks and needles, cardboard dispossession, chalk and fabric glue or a gun glue. The amount of fabric depends on the size of your accent oversized armchair. Make sure you measure your chair – width, height and length – before buying the fabric. Also, always buy additional fabric in case you make a bad cut or simply measure wrong.

Strip the old oversized armchair. Use your needle-nose pliers to remove the old material and removing the staples. Make sure you remove it carefully because this will be your template for the new tissue. Once you’ve made the fabric of the chair, use your scissors or seam ripper to remove the tissue. Make sure the label of fabric with chalk so you know where each piece goes. Take all the old staples and tacks out of the frame of the chair to leave it clean and tidy and ready for new staples.
